Surfing is a pastime activity, a work of art, and a beach lifestyle. Surfing has been shaped and influenced by many surfers throughout the ages. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data found there were 8.5 million riders in the world. 85 percent of surfers polled who had used a surfboard in the most recent year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 percent were male.

The biggest change has been the generation that surfed in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation sport for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
